Post treatment processes in additive manufacturing

Cleaning

Post treatment processes may be further applied to manufactured 3D metal networks with the aim of modifying the native surface of struts.

In porous structures additional treatments can be used to change the metal surface morphology inside pores.

Coatings

When coated with Calcium Phosphate, struts and pores surfaces have been shown to further improve biological performance.

 

Eurocoating can supply the Ti Porous structures further coated with:

BRUSHITE OR HYDROXYAPATITE BY ELECTROCHEMICAL DEPOSITION IN WATER SOLUTION

Brushite or Hydroxyapatite by electrochemical deposition in water solution.

Effective when it has to be coated a surface with multiple layers of pores.

In vivo results have proved that electrochemically deposited CaP significantly increases the bone ingrowth potential of a porous Ti structure and accelerates fixation.

OSPROVIT® HYDROXYAPATITE BY PLASMA SPRYING

Effective when the surface of monolayers or bilayers of pores has to be coated. In vivo results have proved that Osprovit® HA coating significantly increases and accelerates the bone ingrowth potential of a porous Ti structure.
